Georgia’s cars re-export to Central Asia doubles

Georgia’s cars re-export to Central Asia from January through November 2021 amounted to $44.6 million, which is an increase of 126.3 percent, compared to $19.7 million over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

In particular, Georgia’s cars re-export to Kazakhstan over the reporting period of 2021 totaled $19.7 million, which is an increase of 462.8 percent, compared to $3.5 million over the same period of 2020.

Georgia’s car re-export to Kyrgyzstan over first 11 months of 2021 amounted to $14.7 million – an increase of 96 percent, compared to $7.5 million over the same period of 2020.

Tajikistan’s import of cars from Georgia in the same period of 2021 also increased by 16 percent year-on-year – from $5.6 million to $6.5 million.

Meanwhile, Georgia’s re-export of cars to Uzbekistan from January through November 2021 totaled $3.4 million, which is an increase of 21.4 percent, compared to $2.8 million over the same period of 2020.

However, Georgia’s re-export of cars to Turkmenistan over the reporting period of 2021 amounted to $186,750 – a decrease of 41.4 percent year-on-year ($318,740).

Georgia’s total re-export of cars from January through November 2021 amounted to $417.6 million, which is an increase of 14.4 percent, compared to $364.8 million over the same period of 2020.
