Georgia has exported up to 17,800 tons of hazelnuts worth $88.1 million from August 1, 2021, through January 9, 2022, Trend reports, referring to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
The volume of Georgia’s hazelnut exports in the reporting period of 2021 increased by 28 percent (3,800 tons), while the value of exports increased by 10 percent ($7.7 million), compared to the same period of 2020.
According to the ministry, Georgian hazelnuts are mainly exported to European countries, as well as to neighboring countries.
Of the harvested volume of hazelnuts 82 tons were exported to Azerbaijan, the report said.
TOP 10 importers of Georgian hazelnuts:
Italy – 7,424 tons;
Germany – 3,347 tons;
Armenia – 1,243 tons;
China – 785 tons;
Spain – 478 tons;
Czech Republic – 445 tons;
Russia – 400 tons;
Poland – 357 tons;
Lithuania – 327 tons;
France – 314 tons.
