Visitor inflow from Turkey to Georgia growing

The number of visitors from Turkey traveling to Georgia in December 2021 totaled 32,628 people, which is an increase of 65.6 percent compared to the same period of 2020 (19,698 visitors), and 0.1 percent, compared to November 2021 (32,577 visitors), Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.

However, the same figure decreased by 59.6 percent, compared to 80,701 visitors in December 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).

Meanwhile, 326,494 people visited Georgia from Turkey from January through December 2021, which is a decrease of 2.7 percent, compared to 335,580 visitors in 2020.

The same figure decreased by 71.8 percent in 2021, compared to 2019, when 1.1 million people visited Georgia from Turkey.

Thus, Turkey ranked first among TOP-10 main countries of origin for visitors arriving in Georgia in 2021.

The total number of international visitors to Georgia from January through December 2021 amounted to 1.8 million visitors, which is an increase of 7.7 percent, compared to 1.7 million over the same period of 2020.
