Stadler Rail, a manufacturer of railway rolling stock from Switzerland, is interested in creating an assembly line for trains and necessary parts in Georgia, the CEO of the company Peter Spuhler said at the meeting with the President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili, Trend reports via the press service of the President.
The CEO of the company spoke about this possibility which will significantly contribute to the modernization of the train fleet, improving the quality of railway services, raising the qualification of specialists, and hiring local specialists.
Talks focused on the modernization of railway trains, local production, and future investments.
The President appreciated the interest of Stadler Rail in Georgia and noted that maximum efforts should be made to attract more foreign direct investments, including from the European markets.
Stadler Rail is the largest Swiss company with 80 years of experience, producing various types of passenger and freight trains.
