The number of visitors from Turkmenistan traveling to Georgia in January 2022 totaled 114 people, which is 19 times more than 6 visitors over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
However, the same figure decreased by 90 percent, compared to January 2020 (1,107), and by 85 percent, compared to the same month of 2019 (748), before the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the same time, the number of visitors from Turkmenistan traveling to Georgia from January through December 2021 amounted to 765 visitors - a decrease of 77.7 percent, compared to 3,423 people over 2020.
The same figure decreased by 94.4 percent in 2021, compared to 2019, when 13,708 people visited Georgia from Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, the total number of international visitors to Georgia in January 2022 amounted to 199,393 people, which is an increase of 471.2 percent, compared to 34,909 visitors over the same month of 2021.
However, the current figure decreased by 68.5 percent, compared to 633,201 visitors in January 2020, and by 62.3 percent, compared to 528,678 people over the same month of 2019.
