The share of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Georgia’s exports accounted for 55.9 percent of the total exports, which is an increase of 3.8 percentage points, compared to 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic), Trend reports via Georgian media.
In particular, Georgia’s SMEs earned $2.3 billion in revenues from total exports ($4.2 billion).
According to the National Statistics Office (Geostat), the export by the size of trading companies is as follows:
Large - $1.6 billion;
Medium - $1.5 billion;
Small - $798 million.
Meanwhile, Georgia’s exports in January 2022 amounted to $331.3 million, which is an increase of 47.6 percent, compared to $224.5 million over the same month of 2021, and by 23.6 percent, compared to $267.9 million in January 2020.
Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding non-declared trade) in January 2022 amounted to $1.1 billion, which is an increase of 41.1 percent, compared to $786.2 million over the same period of 2021, and 20.4 percent, compared to January 2020 ($913.3 million).
