Georgia’s income from foreign visitors in January 2022 amounted to $144 million, which is almost 14 times more, compared to the same month of 2021 ($10.4 million), Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
However, according to the data, the same figure decreased by 25.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2020 ($193.4 million), and by 12.4 percent, compared to $164.5 million in January 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).

Meanwhile, the total number of international visitors to Georgia in January 2022 amounted to 199,393 people, which is an increase of 471.2 percent, compared to 34,909 visitors over the same month of 2021.
However, the current figure decreased by 68.5 percent, compared to 633,201 visitors in January 2020, and by 62.3 percent, compared to 528,678 people over the same month of 2019.
