Georgia’s sugar factory considers imports from Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Mar. 10

By Maryana Akhmedova – Trend:

Georgia’s Agara Sugar Company LLC, Azerbaijani-invested factory, plans to launch imports from Azerbaijan, Trend reports via Georgian media.

Due to the shortage of sugar stocks in Georgia amid the economic sanctions imposed on Russia, which influenced the supply chain, the company has decided to import raw materials from Azerbaijan,

“The company produces sugar from Georgia’s raw materials, however, import from Azerbaijan is an alternative way to replenish supplies until the previous conditions are restored,” Agara Sugar Company said.

The company plans to resume the production at the full capacity from April this year.
