BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. Georgia’s income from foreign visitors in February 2022 decreased by 7.7 percent, compared to January 2022 ($114 million), and amounted to $105.2 million, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

According to the data, the same figure decreased by 34.4 percent, compared to February 2020 ($160.5 million), and by 37.8 percent, compared to $169.2 million over the same period of 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).

However, Georgia’s income from foreign visitors in February 2022 increased 8 times, compared to the same month of 2021 ($13.7 million).

Meanwhile, the total number of international visitors to Georgia in February 2022 totaled 165,626 people, which is an increase of 293.6 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (42,075).

However, the same figure decreased by 64.5 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2020 (466,409), and by 64.7 percent, compared to February 2019 (469,545).
