BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. The number of credit cards in circulation in Georgia in February 2022 amounted to 585,326, which is an increase of 5.9 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (552,397), Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The same figure also slightly increased by 0.4 percent, compared to January 2022 (582,513), the report said.
According to the NBG, the volume of EC/MC credit cards in the reporting period of 2022 totaled 107,815, which is a decrease of 21.8 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 (138,023), and 1.2 percent, compared to January 2022 (109,172).
The number of VISA credit cards in February 2022 amounted to 159,878 - a decrease of 19.7 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (199,342), and 0.4 percent, compared to January 2022 (160,522).
Meanwhile, the total number of plastic cards in circulation in Georgia in February 2022 amounted to 6.8 million, which is an increase of 1.4 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 (6.7 million).
