BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. Austrian Development Agency is ready to share experience with Georgia in ensuring sustainable forest management, Trend reports via the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

The issue was discussed at the meeting between Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia and Austrian Ambassador to Georgia Thomas Mülmann.

The sides assessed the 30-year fruitful diplomatic cooperation between Georgia and Austria, and discussed the projects implemented by Austrian Development Agency in various sectors in Georgia.

“Austrian Development Agency, together with the Ministry, has implemented important projects in the areas of food safety, rural development, forest sector reform and many others. Given Georgia's ambition towards the EU, we will support the development of rural and agricultural, mountain tourism, as well as environmental and ecotourism,” the ambassador said.

Georgia has a great potential of taking its place in the EU market by providing organic, high-quality products, on which the Ministry is working with several donor organizations, the minister added.
