BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The number of visitors from Turkey traveling to Georgia in March 2022 totaled 42,421 people, which is an increase of 109.6 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (20,237 visitors), Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
The same figure increased by 3.2 percent, compared to 41,121 visitors in March 2020, and by 43.2 percent, compared to February 2022 (29,606).
However, the number of visitors from Turkey to Georgia in the reporting period decreased by 43.6 percent, compared to 75,249 people over the same period of 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).
Thus, Turkey ranked first among TOP-10 main countries of origin for visitors arriving in Georgia in March 2022, followed by Russia (22,536), and Armenia (21,990).
Meanwhile, the total number of international visitors to Georgia in March 2022 amounted to 211,484 visitors, which is an increase of 266.3 percent, compared to 57,728 over the same period of 2021.
