BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. Georgia’s revenues from visitors from Azerbaijan in March 2022 amounted to $7.5 million, which is an increase of 368.7 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 ($1.6 million), Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The revenues from Azerbaijani visitors to Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 also increased by 7.1 percent, compared to March 2020 ($7 million), and by 78.5 percent, compared to February 2022 ($4.2 million).

Thus, Azerbaijan ranks 7 among the main countries of origin for money spending in Georgia in March 2022, the report said. Meanwhile, Russia ranked first with $34.3 million, followed by Belarus ($29.3 million), and Turkey ($16.2 million).

Meanwhile, the amount of visitors from Azerbaijan traveling to Georgia in March 2022 amounted to 14,554 people, which is an increase of 244.4 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 (4,226).

The same number, however, decreased by 66.5 percent, compared to 43,437 visitors in March 2020, and by 87.6 percent, compared to 117,050 visitors over the same month of 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).
