BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Georgia is going to resolve the issue with land registration, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili said at the government meeting, Trend reports via the press service of the Georgian Government Administration.

According to Garibashvili, the total cost of the land registration project is 120 million Georgian lari ($39.2 million), of which 15 million Georgian lari ($4.9 million) is allocated by the World Bank. The primary land registration will be completed by 2024.

Some 1.2 million hectares of unregistered land will be measured and registered during the next 3 years. The initiative will cover the currently owned or used land. Also, the precision of already registered data will get improved, the PM said.

“As a result, Georgia will have an accurate map and a comprehensive database of property rights. The data about the real estate in the country will also be collected, which will contribute to the real estate market development. This initiative will facilitate the maximum use of land resources, economic advancement, and the prosperity of each citizen of Georgia,” he added.
