BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. Georgia’s trade turnover with Turkey from January through March 2022 amounted to $562.4 million, which is an increase of 34.2 percent, compared to $418.9 million over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Turkey’s share accounted for 14.6 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of Georgia in the reporting period of 2022, while over the same period of 2021 this index accounted for 15.1 percent.

Thus, Turkey remained the top Georgian trade turnover partner from January through March 2022, followed by China ($461.9 million) and Russia ($383.2 million).

Meanwhile, Georgia’s exports to Turkey in the reporting period of 2022, accounting for 8.5 percent of total exports, increased by 31.2 percent to $99.2 million, compared to $75.6 million over the same period of 2021.

Turkey ranked fourth among main Georgia’s partners by exports in the first quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, China ($220 million), Azerbaijan ($125.3 million), and Russia ($109.8 million) were the TOP-3.

Georgian imports from Turkey from January through March 2022, accounting for 17.2 percent of the total imports, increased by 34.5 percent to $463.1 million, compared to $344.4 million over the same period of 2021.

Turkey remained Georgia's main partner by imports in the reporting period of 2022, followed by Russia ($273.4 million) and China ($241.9 million).

Meanwhile, Georgia’s foreign trade turnover (excluding non-declared trade) from January through March 2022 amounted to $3.8 billion, which is an increase of 37.9 percent, compared to $2.7 billion over the same period of 2021.
