BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. The total amount of transactions made in Georgia using foreign bank cards in March is 309 million GEL currency of Georgia ($101.8 million), which is 3.2 times more than the previous year, Trend reports with the reference to the National Bank of Georgia.
Most of the transactions were carried out through ATMs withdrawing GEL 179 million ($58.9 million) in March 2022, which is also three times more than the previous year. Foreign credit cardholders made 110 million GEL ($36.2 million) transactions through POS terminals.
A total of 1.7 million individual payments were made with foreign credit cardholders in March 2022, which is 3.6 times more than the previous year. The average amount of ATM transactions (cash withdrawals) was 773 GEL ($257.4), while the average sum of one POS terminal operation was 86 GEL ($28.3), reports the National Bank of Georgia.
