Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 9
By Orkhan Quluzade – Trend:
Turkey-US relations are in the most “sensitive” period, Turkish media quoted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying Jan. 9.
The president was addressing the 9th congress of Turkish ambassadors.
Some decisions of the Obama administration and disagreement between Washington and Ankara concerning the fight against terrorism are widely discussed in Turkey’s social and political circles, according to Erdogan.
“Turkey wants to get reliable, strong and uncompromising support from its ally, the US, against threats posed by terrorist groups such as the “Islamic State”, the Fethullah Gulen movement and separatist organizations. We believe that during Donald Trump’s presidency, the Turkey-US dialogue will be strengthened,” the president said.
