Cargo transportation from Turkey to Turkmenistan increases

In January-August 2019, cargo transportation by 9,458 Turkish trucks was carried out from Turkey to Turkmenistan, which is 25 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, Trend reports with reference to the International Freight Forwarders Association (UND) of Turkey.

“Turkmenistan accounts for 1.16 percent of the total volume of cargo transshipment from Turkey by trucks for the reporting period,” the association said.

During this period, 3,270 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkmenistan, which is 37 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.

According to the report, 818,704 Turkish trucks transported cargo abroad, which is 5 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

“In January-August 2019, the share of cargo transported from Turkey by Turkish trucks accounted for 77.76 percent of the total volume of cargo transshipment by road transport,” said the report.

As reported, 234,109 foreign trucks transported cargo across Turkey, which is 3 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

“In January-August 2019, the share of cargo transportation from Turkey by foreign trucks amounted to 22.24 percent,” UND said.

During the reporting period, 268,134 Turkish trucks transported cargo from foreign countries.
