The balance sheets show that Ukraine is provided with basic food products for the upcoming months, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said, Trend reports citing UNIAN news agency.
The government restricted the export of goods critical for food security during martial law, he said in a video message.
These are wheat, buckwheat, meat, eggs, butter, sugar, etc.
"Now the balance statements show that Ukraine is provided with basic food products for the next months. We must also think about the future. Therefore, the government is implementing a plan to support the seeding campaign, which should start soon where possible," the prime minister said.
Today the government approved a decision by which the state will compensate interest on loans to cover any costs associated with the implementation of agricultural activities, he noted.
Farmers will be provided with state guarantees for 80 percent of the amount of loans they have attracted.
"This will allow our farmers to receive funds for the seeding season and be sure that they will not go bankrupt in the event of a crop loss," Shmygal said.
