Syria welcomes the Lebanese Prime Minister Saeed al-Hariri's forthcoming visit to Syria, Presidency's Political and media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban said, SNS reported.
Speaking to the Kuwaiti al-Deyar newspaper on Monday, Shaaban expressed Syria's pleasure of the Lebanese unity cabinet's line up.
She noted that Lebanon's security, stability and prosperity means Syria's security, stability and prosperity.
Shaaban's remarks are the first made by a Syrian official about al-Hariri's visit to Syria as reports note that the visit would be paid during the convention of the joint Syrian-Lebanese Higher Council .
Reports and Lebanese officials' remarks note Lebanon's President Micheal Sleiman would accompany al-Hariri in his visit to Syria.
On the other hand, Shaaban refused to comment on expected visits to be paid to Syria by a number of Lebanese leaders including Walid Junblat, saying: "this matter is up to President Bashar al-Assad and Syrian political leadership".
According to reports and Lebanese officials' statements, Junblat is due to visit Damascus after al-Hariri's forthcoming visit.
