Two civilians were fatally shot and a third injured in two attacks in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Monday, police told the German Press Agency dpa.
"Unidentified gunmen" fatally shot two civilians in the al-Sanaiya district of downtown Mosul, and a third was injured in a separate rocket attack in the neighbourhood of 17 July, police said.
Despite successive security pushes that police say have netted hundreds of suspected insurgents this year, Mosul and its environs remain the site of near daily, deadly attacks.
