Gaza militants receive no training from foreign experts: Hamas

The deposed Hamas government of Gaza on Thursday denied Israeli media reports that Iranian and Syrian experts entered Gaza to help improve military capability of Palestinian militant groups, Xinhua reported.

"These reports are lies and they are part of an incitement campaign the Israeli occupation uses to attack Gaza," said Taher Al-Nounou, spokesman for the Hamas government.

"Israel tries to globalize the crisis and gain international sympathy by claiming that foreign experts and people from al-Qaida came to give training to the resistance fighters," he added.

The reports said that fighters from Hamas, the Islamic Jihad and other factions are benefiting from the Iranian and Syrian expertise to rebuild their weaponries, which were attacked in Israel's three-week military operation nearly two years ago.

The experts used a network of underground tunnels between Gaza and Egypt to enter the Hamas-controlled enclave, according to the report.
