The Higher Coordination Committee of the joint Arab action convened on Saturday in Cairo to discuss possible measures to promote cooperation and development and deal with various challenges in the Arab world, Xinhua reported.
The committee, which has directors of 17 specialized Arab League organizations, discussed the development of the work of the specialized organizations and activation of their role in bolstering economic development, Egypt's official MENA news agency said.
The role of the civil society and the private sector should be activated to develop joint Arab action, especially as regards organizations and unions, said Arab League chief Amr Moussa.
