Yemeni authorities will release a political activist on Monday after two days of detention for leading anti-government protests, a government official said.
He said the release of Tawakul Karman was decided after her family provided a pledge that "she doesn't break the law and order" by organising unlicensed protests, DPA reported.
Karman, a member of the opposition Islah party, was arrested on Saturday after she led a protest outside the Sana'a University.
