Some 2,000 anti-government protesters blocked the entrance of Egypt's state television and radio broadcaster in Cairo, preventing people from entering or exiting the building, according to reports Friday.

Some of the protesters carried banners reading "the people demand the removal of the regime."

Many of them had spent the night near the building after President Hosny Mubarak's speech late on Thursday, in which he delegated powers to Vice President Omar Suleiman but refused to step down, DPA reported.
