Egypt's Prosecutor General Abdel- Meguid Mahmoud on Wednesday ordered a 15-day detention for former President Hosni Mubarak and his two sons under an investigation into corruption and abuse of power accusations, Xinhua reported.

State TV said the place of detention of Mubarak has not been determined.

Mubarak's sons, Alaa and Gamal, were heading to a prison in Cairo, the Nile TV said, citing security sources.

Mubarak, 82, was hospitalized on Tuesday in Sharm el-Sheikh after he suffered a heart attack during questioning by prosecutors.

Mubarak's questioning was about the use of force against protesters and embezzlement of public funds, the channel said.

He was forced to end his 30-year rule on Feb. 11 after the 18- day nationwide demonstration which left some 384 people dead.

Mubarak has denied all the accusations against him and his family.
