Palestinians rally to demand release of prisoners
Hundreds of Palestinians demonstrated in the West Bank city of Ramallah Saturday, demanding Israel free prisoners, Xinhua reported.
The protestors walked through Ramallah streets and gathered in the center of the city, holding Palestinian flags and posters of oldest detainees.
They also called for rival Palestinian groups to reconcile and end a political split that divided the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Eissa Qaraqe, Palestinian minister of prisoners' affairs, said during the demonstration that there will be no peace with Israel before all prisoners are freed. Israel holds about 7,000 Palestinians.
