Coptic Christians marched in Sydney on Saturday in support of fellow believers in Cairo who are urging the Egyptian government to act against Muslims who attack churches, DPA reported.
People's Voice Association spokesman Sam Girgis claimed Coptic Christian girls and women were being kidnapped and forcibly converted to Islam.
"The girls are raped ... and filmed or photographed, and then this is used as a blackmail tool against them," he told national broadcaster ABC.
Girgis called on Canberra to offer sanctuary to Coptic Christians persecuted in Egypt. Around 10 per cent of Egyptians are Christians.
