Palestinian Prime Minister
Salam Fayyad Monday was recovering from minor heart surgery in a Texas hospital after suffering chest pains, his offices said in Ramallah.
Fayyad was in "good" condition at the Seton Medical Centre in Austin, Texas, a hospital spokesperson told the German Press Agency dpa.
Fayyad's office in Ramallah said that the 59-year-old received a stent in an artery to address the problem. It said he was on the way to recovery and could leave the hospital in the coming day.
Fayyad was in Texas attending the graduation ceremony for his son at the University of Austin.
