The agreement between Washington and Baghdad on withdrawal of all US troops by the end of this year is a win-win situation for both sides, the spokesman for Iraqi prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said Friday, DPA reported.

"It is a win-win situation as Iraq managed to build its defences and to depend on itself during the different dates set in the security agreement," Ali al-Mossawi told the state-run Iraqiya television.

"The details were not discussed during the phone call, but I do not think there will be problems on agreeing on training according to the Iraqi constitution," he added, referring to talks between the two countries on extending the stay of US troops for training purposes.

US President Barack Obama said Friday that all US troops will leave Iraq by the end of the year after failed talks, which had been working to find a way to keep some soldiers in the country longer.
