Bahrain on Saturday deported two female activists on charges of participating in illegal activities, the Information Affairs Authority said in a statement, Xinhua reported.
Huwaida Arraf and Radhika Sainath, two American rights activists who travelled to the country on tourist visas, were picked up at an illegal demonstration in Manama on Saturday, the statement said.
It added that the two women came as part of a group called " Witness Bahrain" and worked to promote the activities of the now- banned Bahrain Center for Human Rights, led by Nabeel Rajab.
