Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdesslem has called for the opening of humanitarian corridors with a view to relieve the suffering of the Syrian people, the official press agency TAP reported on Monday.
At Sunday's "Friends of Syria" conference held in Istanbul of Turkey, Abdesslem urged all parties to "find a political solution to the crisis based on the respect of the Arab League resolutions and of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity", Xinhua reported.
The Tunisian official reiterated his country's solidarity with the Syrian people and its rejection of violations against their " elementary rights."
Some 70 countries participated in the conference, the second of its kind, in addition to international organizations including the United Nations, the Arab League, the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
