Kofi Annan, the UN-Arab League special envoy for Syria, will brief the General Assembly in New York on Thursday on his efforts to bring an end to the conflict in Syria, dpa reported.
Annan is to speak to the 193-nation assembly through a video link at 1400 GMT. He held a similar session with the UN Security Council on Monday.
The UN said the assembly will convene in an informal session to hear Annan "on the situation in the Syrian Republic and the progress of his mission."
