Hundreds of people took to the streets in Cairo and the northern city of Alexandria on Monday after Hosny Mubarak's last premier, Ahmed Shafiq, qualified for a run-off presidential vote, dpa reported.
About 500 people gathered in the iconic Tahrir Square in central Cairo, chanting: "For the second time, people want to oust the regime," state media reported.
In Alexandria, protesters vowed to continue their revolt against members of the former regime.
