Syrian President Bashar al-Assad Sunday said that his country would continue to stand against what he called a "plot" aimed at him, dpa reported.
The Syrian people will not allow this plot to reach its goals at all costs," he said, according to state television.
"What is happening now targets not only Syria, but also the region of which Syria is the foundation stone," he added.
