A Finnish diplomat was Sunday liaising with authorities in Yemen for the release of two Finnish nationals abducted in the country, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman in Helsinki said.
The diplomat was dispatched to Yemen following the kidnapping Friday of the two Finns and an Austrian in central Sana'a, the capital, dpa reported.
Helsinki was also in touch with Austrian authorities. The spokeswoman told dpa there was no information about possible ransom demands, or the identity of the kidnappers.
The spokeswoman would not confirm media reports that the missing Finnish nationals were a man and a woman.
