Syria reserves the right to respond to external aggression, including from Israel, Syria's Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad told RIA Novosti on Friday.

"As you know, every country that is subjected to aggression has a right to respond to it, and Syria is able to respond, and only Syria may decide when and where to retaliate," he said.
This week Israeli air force attacked a military research center near Damascus. Two people were killed and five were wounded, the building was extensively damaged. According to the command of the Syrian army, earlier this center was for several months attacked by militants of armed opposition.

Western media reported that the Israeli air force bombed a convoy with air defense equipment allegedly intended for Hezbollah. Moscow expressed serious concern over these events. The Russian Foreign Minister said if the information is confirmed, the UN Charter would have been rigorously violated.
