At least seven people died Thursday when a restaurant boat that belongs to the upscale Lebanese Club in Baghdad sank in Iraq, news reports said.
The boat had more than 80 people on board when it sank in the Tigris river near the Al Karada area of central Baghdad, DPA reported.
According to Lebanese media, there was a private party on board the boat when it sank.
Iraqi media quoted an Interior Ministry official as saying the cause was not immediately known and that most on board were Iraqi nationals.
Iraqi Television showed people gathering at the club following the accident and ambulances and fire trucks at the scene.
