PM: UK not excludes possibility of weapon sale to Syrian opposition

The United Kingdom does not refuse the possibility of supplying weapons to the Syrian opposition, but it is not going to rush to arm the anto-government forces, British Prime Minister David Cameron said, RIA Novosti reported.

"No one wants more weapons to be in Syria. But it is important for us that such a possibility (arming the opposition) remains open," the prime minister said at a press conference following the G8 summit in Northern Ireland.

Earlier, Cameron said that Britain considers appropriate lifting the EU embargo on arm sales to the Syrian opposition, but the United Kingdom has not yet decided on this issue.

Shortly before the G8 summit, the British Prime Minister said that London gives priority to a political way of resolving the Syrian problem.
