Egypt's prosecutor's office placed the second in the last two days travel ban on ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi on Thursday, inquisitor Sarwat Hammad told the online news site Al-Masri Al-Yawm, RIA Novosti reported.
According to him, an investigation is underway against the former president and 15 other Islamic leaders, including the top of the Muslim Brotherhood on charges of obstruction of justice. All persons under investigation are banned from leaving the country.
On Wednesday night, the army of Egypt ousted President-Islamist Morsi from power and began arresting his supporters among the leaders of the the Muslim Brotherhood. The head of the political wing of the movement, the Freedom and Justice Party, Saad al-Katatni and the movement's deputy spiritual leader Rashad Bayyumi were detained on Thursday night. They have already been put in Tora prison outside Cairo. On Thursday, the Prosecutor General's Office issued a warrant for the arrest of the supreme teacher of the Muslim Brotherhood Mohammed Badia and his deputy, prominent businessman Khairat al-Shatyry. It is reported that they could face charges of killing protesters.
