Opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner Mohammed ElBaradei is to become Egpyt's new prime minister, activists in the populist Tamarod movement said after their talks with interim President Adli Mansour, dpa reported.
"ElBaradei will head the government in the transitional period, during which early presidential elections will be held," the group said on its Facebook page.
ElBaradei, the former chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency, met with Mansour twice Saturday, the state Middle East News Agency reported without elaborating.
