Israel, Jerusalem / Trend corr. R.Abdullayev / The report by the Israeli Defence Service approves that the Palestinian Authorities arrested more than 250 members of HAMAS in Iude and Samari cities for recent, MIGNEWS reports.
Most of people were arrested in Shkheme, where the Palestinian police are permitted to operate. Mass detentions were implemented in Chevron.
The Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said "we see that part of Palestinian leaders attempt to take control over streets, and practical results are evident." Barak added that the Israeli army would continue bomb on terrorists where it will be necessary. Several activists of HAMAS were arrested in Shkheme recently. Later practically all of them were released.
