Three suspected Palestinian militants were on Tuesday presumed to have been killed in a gunfight with Israeli soldiers on the Gaza border on Tuesday, dpa reported.
An Israeli Army spokesman spokesman said the three had thrown a hand grenade at soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip. Earlier, they had laid explosives.
The soldiers advanced on the Palestinian territory and opened fire. The militants were apparently killed, but there was no official confirmation, the spokesman said.
A spokesman for the radical Palestinian Hamas movement, Mahmoud al-Zahar, expressed willingness to renew a ceasefire with Israel, in an interview published Tuesday.
