Israel swears in new government

Israel's new government led by second-term Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahuwas is being offically sworn in on Tuesday night, Xinhua reported.

In the late night ceremony in the parliament presided by Speaker Reuven Rivlin, the ministers in the new government are taking the oaths of office and signing the official documents one by one on the podium.

Immediately before the beginning of the swearing-in, the 120- seat parliament ended a six-hour debate and voted 69 to 45 with five abstentions in favor of the configuration of the 32nd government.

The new government contains 30 ministers and seven deputy ministers, marking one of the largest in Israel's 61-year history.
The prime minister also serves as financial trategy minister, a supervising ministerial position in the Finance Ministry.
