Israel to deploy anti-rocket system in November

Israel has finished the final tests for its anti-rocket system "Iron Dome" on Monday and is about to deploy the interceptor in November, Xinhua reported.

The system successfully shot down multiple rockets simultaneously in the series of tests conducted this week, local daily Ha'aretz quoted Israel's Defense Ministry as saying in a statement.

The system, developed by state-owned company Rafael Defense Systems and designed to intercept short-and-medium-range Qassam and Katyusha rockets fired by Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, is about to be deployed in Israel air forces in November, the ministry said.

Defense officials have said that Israel is expected to build three-level missile defense systems, "Iron Dome" against rockets, "David's Sling" against medium-range missiles and "Arrow" against long-range missiles.
