The Israeli government overnight approved a controversial austerity budget for 2013-14, Israel Radio reported.
Twenty-one members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet voted in favour, with one against, after marathon discussions that started Monday morning and lasted until dawn Tuesday, dpa reported.
The budget includes across-the-board cuts, including one of 3 billion Israeli shekels (0.8 billion US dollars) in the Defence Ministry.
