The Russian State Duma has passed a bill on the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games in the first reading. The bill will regulate any disputes over land rights where the authorities make a compulsory purchase in order to build infrastructure needed for the games.
The draft law will also allow simplified entry and exit of the games participants to sport facilities.
In the second reading the Duma will debate the procedure for appraising land values.
Before becoming law the bill needs to be approved by the Federation Council - the Upper House of the Russian Parliament. ( RT )
