12 killed in two car crashes in Ukraine overnight

(Interfax) Twenty-one people have been killed in two traffic accidents in Ukraine's Kyiv region overnight.

A Chevrolet driver lost control of the vehicle and drove into a Volkswagen minibus and a VAZ car, killing seven, at the fifth kilometer of the Mytnitsya-Fastov highway on Saturday. The collision left the drivers and passengers of the cars dead, Ukraine's Emergency Situations Ministry reported on Sunday.

In another accident, the driver and the passengers of a VAZ car - five people in all - were killed when the VAZ crashed into a DAF highway freighter, parked at the roadside at the 94th kilometer of the Kyiv- Kharkiv motorway early on Sunday
