( dpa ) - The son of slain Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto on Tuesday appealed to the media to respect his privacy saying that for the moment his priority was to complete his legal studies at Britain's Oxford University.

Speaking to reporters in London during his first press conference as PPP leader, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, 19, said that a role in politics was a new experience for him and that he would take things "step by step."

"I have politics in my blood," he said.

Bhutto Zardari was named as chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in the wake of his mother's killing in a December 27 gun- suicide bomb attack, with his father and Bhutto's husband Asif Ali Zardari as the co-chairman.
