New laptops with HD drives from Toshiba and Sony

( dpa ) - More and more laptops are coming equipped with hard drives for new HD media.

Sony, for example, is presenting its new Vaio VGN-AR61ZU laptop with an integrated Blu-ray burner. The unit possesses one HDMI output and 4 GB of RAM alongside its Core 2 Duo T8300 processor from Intel. The machine costs 1,049 dollars.

The major competitor to Blu-ray is the HD-DVD format. Toshiba has announced a new laptop with an HD-DVD drive included. The machine is also to feature an Intel Core-2-Duo-T7250 and cost 1,499 dollars.
